AI, Climate change & Energy in Africa

Hello friends,

It’s good to be back, to pen down some interesting notes. This write-up will focus on two things, let’s catchup!

Today, I want to talk about something that I believe is crucial for businesses of all sizes: customer service. With the rise of online inquiries, e-commerce and demanding customers, it’s more important than ever for businesses to provide excellent customer service. Not only does it help to build trust and loyalty with customers, but it can also lead to more sales and positive word-of-mouth.

How to improve customer service

One way your business can improve her customer service is by implementing a AI Chatbot. Chatbots can provide quick and efficient responses to customer inquiries, 24/7. They can answer frequently asked questions, provide product information, and even help with the ordering process. Additionally, chatbots can help to improve the customer experience by providing personalised and relevant information. Above all, the bot could even interact like a human.

With the advancement of GPT (large language models) technologies, more and more businesses are realising the importance of integrating chatbot solutions into their operations. And I couldn’t agree more.

In December of last year, I had the opportunity to work on a Telegram chatbot (AT Bot) specifically designed for legal aid services. The bot was able to answer user’s questions and direct them to the right resources. If you are on telegram you can interact with it (yemir_bot), however, due to server cost, the bot will not be powered continuously. But feel free to check it out and let me know what you think.

And, if you’re interested in designing a bot for your business, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Big Data Analytics, Climate Change & African Energy Landscape

Now, let’s move on to another interesting topic: Climate change & Energy.

As you probably know, Africa is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, mainly due to its dependence on climate-sensitive sectors such as agriculture and fisheries. The African Development Bank (AFDB) states that Africa’s average temperature has increased by about 0.5 degrees Celsius over the past century, and projections show that it could increase by as much as 4 degrees Celsius by the end of this century.

This rise in temperature has led to severe droughts, more energy production and more.

Join us @ AfricaNXT 2023

This is why I’m excited to announce that I’ll be facilitating a masterclass on “Applying Big Data Analytics in Climate Change Research: To Impact the African Energy Market,” as part of AfricaNXT (formerly Social Media Week Lagos) on February 6th, 2023. Time 4pm-5:30pm WAT.

Joining me is Ebere Akwuebu, an Environmental Law research expert. We’ll be discussing how Artificial Intelligence and Big Data can play a role in addressing climate change and energy in Africa. If you’re interested in participating, you can register here. Get your tickets on eventbrite too.

Till next time, keep blazing!
